The mystery/thriller box features fictional books (unlike our true crime box), and the books inside are intended for adults. There may be violence, sex, and profanity in these books, while our cozy mysteries have a lighter tone and are known for deaths that occur off the page and a lack of sex and cursing.

We will occasionally include a newer book, but most of the books in our Mystery/Thriller box are memorable mystery/thrillers from the past decade or so that have been so good that our founder Katy was compelled to share them with you. These books are some of her favorites, and she’s a picky reader so we think you will like them too.

To determine when you will receive your next box, you can look at what month in the quarterly rotation is coming up next. If it's before we close the cart for that month, you will receive a box that month. Our first box is going to go out in February 2025 so if you sign up before that box ships out the last week of the month, you will get your first box then. It is possible that a box shipping at the end of February will be received in early March. This box goes out quarterly, so you can expect a box to be delivered to you in February, May, August, and November.

Our box ships out every other month, and once you are signed up, you can expect to receive a shipment in each of the following months: February, May, August & November

You will be charged for your first box right away. For future shipments you will be charged on the 14th day of the month the box is being shipped. For example, you will be charged for your May box on May 14th and that box will ship out by the end of May.

We make it simple for you to cancel at any time. As part of the sign up process, you will create an account, and you will be able to manage your subscription in that account. There, you can change payment methods and you can also skip a month or cancel your subscription. 

There are millions of books in the world, so this is unlikely to happen. But since there is no way for us to know what books you’ve already read, we can’t prevent this. If you enjoyed the book, we recommend gifting it to a friend or donating it to a Little Free Library or community organization.
